It goes without saying, that this year, Halloween will not look the same.  However, that doesn’t mean it can’t be fun and something to look forward to!  I’ve scoured Pinterest for you and rounded up the best Halloween games, snacks, and fun ideas!

*Monster Count-Up to Halloween:  My little Bud loves having a countdown to everything and Halloween is one of his favorite holidays.  But this year we decided to try something different.  Instead of a count DOWN, we made a count UP.  Basically, we have a monster head body and we add a monster part each day of October.  On Halloween, the monster will be complete!  Bud made all of the decisions on the number of each body part (I’m not sure that I would have given the monster 3 noses, but hey, it does make him look creepier). Don’t forget to give it a name!

Click on the links below to see some awesome Halloween ideas!

*Concrete Pumpkins: Use plastic pumpkins as a mold to make concrete pumpkins. Use these for decorations or create a hole in the center for an awesome candy bowl.  Be on the lookout after Halloween.  These buckets can be found for as little as a penny a piece!

*Milk Jug Witch: I actually made this one! I used an empty water jug.  The only thing I had to buy was the green spray paint.  I used a Halloween costume from last year’s clearance for the the witch dress.  It’s not perfect, but Bethelda turned out just fine.

*Paper Garland: These paper garlands are so cute and the instructions even include a free template for the shapes.

*Paper Chains: We have made many paper chains at my house.  These are simple and can be made without anything more than construction paper, tape, and some markers.

*Paper Spiderwebs: Think paper snowflakes, but spookier.

*200+ Halloween Coloring Page: Need a quick activity for the kids while you sneak some Halloween candy a little early? There are plenty to choose from here! Also, as an alternative to candy, you could always print some coloring pages and roll up with a small set of crayons (think kids menu at a restaurant).

*Paper Cup Ghosts: I think these are my favorite.  It made me wish I had some extra battery powered tea lights laying around.  I’m thinking I may be able to use a strand of battery powered lights instead…hmmmm….stay tuned.

*5 Easy Halloween Games for Kids: I’m getting my balloons ready for a Pumpkin Patch Stomp! Now, who is going to blow them all up? With dysautonomia, I don’t have much extra breath!

*Outdoor Halloween Fest Games: I love this Pumpkin’ Chunkin’ game! Instead of real pumpkins, you use toilet paper rolls covered in felt (No T.P. is harmed in the making of this game).  A nice alternative to the real thing (unless you are still suffering a T.P. shortage)!

*15 Halloween Party Games: How about some Pumpkin Fishing? You don’t need anything fancy.  I used a stick with yarn tied to the end.  Then I stuck two (strong) magnets together on the end with the yarn in between.

*Candy Corn Toss Game: This Witch Pitch is a great idea (if you can keep from eating the candy corn)!

*Mummy Bowling: Does anyone else have a hoarding problem? I have close to 100 empty Coffee Creamer bottles.  I think they might find a new purpose in life becoming bowling pins for Mummy Bowling!

*Unwrap the Mummy Game: Have you ever played the Seran Wrap game? Now, try that with toilet paper instead so it looks like a Mummy!

*Pumpkin Glow Ring Toss: Who doesn’t love glow-in-the-dark games? Have you seen glow in the dark spray paint? I think spraying the stems of the pumpkins might make this game even more fun!

*Pop Goes the Pumpkin Game: If you want to get fancy, follow the instructions to build this game.  This Mama doesn’t do fancy, so I’m thinking there are plenty of cheap frugal alternatives. I know I don’t have any extra burlap laying around 🙂

*Pumpkin Golf: I love this idea! I have never seen Funkins before! These synthetic, carvable pumpkins would be great fun, but at $12 a piece (from Target), I think I’ll have to find another option. How about this alternative from Oriental Trading? You could even make your own using cardboard cutouts! I’m always looking for ways to save money and use what I have on hand.

*Tin Can Bowling: When my little Bud saw this on my computer, he decided he wanted to raid the pantry to use our canned food immediately to make this game.  I think I’ll start saving my EMPTY cans for him to decorate 🙂

*18 Halloween Games: OK, I can’t decide which game I like best here! Just have a look at the quick and easy to set up activities for your little Boos.

*Glow in the Dark Candy Hunt: I can’t wait to set this up for Halloween night! I stock up on after Halloween clearance items, so I have a supply of treat bags ready to be filled.

*Spooky Halloween Game: This quick and easy game is an excellent way to practice following instructions! You do have to enter your email address to have the printable sent to you, but it’s definitely worth it.

*Eyeball Hunt: Leave some eyeballs lurking around your yard and let the kids see how many they can find! Ping pong balls with drawn on eyes could also be used.

What great ideas. Inexpensive fun and great for the environment. recycling things you already have at home is better than buying things for the holiday and then throwing them away. I love Halloween! Can’t wait!

This is so great! I typically regret signing up for a game for my kids’ Halloween party because I struggle to come up with ideas. Thanks for sharing these resources especially now when Halloween may look very different than past years.
